Light:Guard receives ISO 27001 certificate

13th October 2025

Light:Guard GmbH is officially certified according to ISO 27001. With the successful completion of the certification process, the Information Security Management System (ISMS) has received internationally recognized certification for the highest standards in information security.

ISO 27001 is recognized worldwide as the leading standard for information security management systems. It defines clear requirements for processes, technical measures, and organizational structures to systematically identify, assess, and minimize risks.

With the certification now complete, an independent audit confirms that Light:Guard GmbH’s information security processes meet high international requirements and are continuously being developed.

The basis for the successful certification was a comprehensive digitization project implemented with the support of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The aim was to further modernize the IT infrastructure and to align the existing high level of security with the requirements of ISO 27001 in a structured manner.

The following measures, among others, were implemented as part of the project:

1. Increased IT security and resilience to cyber attacks

  • Outdated servers were replaced with modern, high-performance systems and integrated into the existing infrastructure
  • Network security was comprehensively modernized with firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other components for actively defending against potential threats
  • The network architecture was adapted to ensure data protection and system availability at all times, even under increasing demands

2. Protection of sensitive company and customer data

  • For further security, existing cybersecurity solutions were renewed and modernized, including antivirus software, endpoint protection, and encryption tools
  • These components increase security at the technical level and supplement the infrastructure with effective protective mechanisms

3. Preparation for ISO 27001 certification

  • Specific management tools were implemented, security guidelines established, and internal processes restructured in preparation for certification
  • Employees received targeted training to effectively implement the new standards
  • In addition, external consultants were brought in to conduct audits and risk analyses and to ensure certification readiness

4. Strengthening the security culture within the company

  • In addition to technical implementation, awareness of information security was also raised within the company.
  • Workshops and training courses provided in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the secure handling of data and IT systems

In addition to technical development, raising employee awareness played a particularly important role. Information security is a company-wide task at Light:Guard. Targeted training and clear processes have significantly increased awareness of risks and protective measures.

The certification was made possible by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which supported ISO 27001 as Light:Guard’s second digitization project. The support from the ERDF was an essential building block in the consistent implementation of the extensive technical and organizational measures.

Light:Guard has been tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland.

The certification was made possible by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which supported ISO 27001 as Light:Guard’s second digitization project.
