Press Release: light:guard-system will be included in the future Vestas full maintenance contract

Isernhagen, 12th July 2021

The light:guard Aircraft Detection Lighting System is now offered for Vestas wind turbines with a full maintenance contract. Until now, the signal supply could be ordered either through Vestas or directly from Light:Guard. This is now simplified by the fact that the signal supply can be integrated into the existing maintenance contract via an addendum.

This step, in which the requests are bundled through Vestas, simplifies the request for quotation for customers. This has proven to be particularly useful, since, on the one hand, the implementation of the conversion to ADLS is very time-consuming and, on the other hand, the approval process can lead to time delays. In addition, operators and customers often have uncertainties and lengthy decision-making processes.

In order to make it easier to implement ADLS by the December 31, 2022 deadline, these processes are being optimized. “This is being achieved by Vestas taking on the coordination. This way, we can definitely ensure timely implementation,” emphasizes Christian Dee, Specialist Parts & Repair Sales Germany, Vestas Northern & Central Europe. “By working even more closely with Light:Guard when preparing offers, we can respond even faster to customer needs and provide the appropriate offer in a timely manner. This and the integration of the product into existing AOM contracts means an immense time saving for us, but above all for the customer.”

But wind farm operators with turbines from other manufacturers also benefit. “The light:guard system is not only suitable for Vestas, but also for all other wind turbines. We can fully utilize the capacities freed up by this process optimization to make the implementation of all projects even more efficient and thus definitely complete them by the deadline,” emphasizes Light:Guard managing director Yvonne Mosler.

Operators of Vestas turbines can continue to address their inquiries about the retrofitting directly to their account managers at Vestas.
